Britney's back! Glowing Spears hits the studio... and she looks better than ever

With her glowing skin, slim figure and casually tied back hair, it seems life is looking up for Britney Spears.

The once-troubled singer spent hours in the studio today, working hard on her new album.

Pictures showed her smiling and laughing as she arrived, carrying one of her favourite iced coffees.

She kept her fans up to date, tweeting: 'Spending the day in the studio recording.

And while Britney's casual outfit was her usual off-duty uniform of denim shorts and vest top, she wore it well, looking healthy and wholesome.

It was certainly a change for the once-troubled 28-year-old.

Just last month Britney was seen with huge matted sections in her hair.

There were even apparent bald patches from where her extensions, which she has worn since she infamously shaved her hair, had been pulled out.

And just a few months ago her father banned her from leaving the house without a bra after being embarrassed by paparazzi photos.

But for now it seems he has no more need to worry.

Whereas once she was known for her outrageous behaviour, Britney's conduct has been impeccable of late.

Britney is even set to star in a tribute episode of hit show Glee, which she has been excitedly tweeting updates about.

Boyfriend Jason Trawick has been credited with helping his girlfriend get her life back on track.

Her former manager, he stepped down to avoid any conflict when their relationship became serious.

I'm a serious actress now, says Bond girl Gemma Arterton

As a Bond girl, she certainly wasn't shy about showing off her shapely figure.

But Gemma Arterton has declared that she now wants to become a 'serious' actress – because she's fed up with being seen as 'the totty'.

Despite earning a dedicated male following for her role as Strawberry Fields alongside Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace, the 24-year-old insists that she is giving up on blockbusters.

The actress, from Gravesend in Kent, said: 'For me, it can really be frustrating when you're just seen as the totty, and I know that I've always taken acting so seriously.

'The Bond film took me into that "hottie" category. It's easy for people to put you in that "hot girl" slot.

'I don't want to play those characters any more. Now I'm starting to be in the kinds of films I would go and see – quirky and interesting and not particularly blockbustery. So I have to prove my salt. And now is the time.'

The actress added that she chose her latest film, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, because she 'wanted to do something where I could eat'.

Miss Arterton plays the eponymous Alice, a woman from a wealthy family who is kidnapped by two ex-convicts.

Perhaps marriage is responsible for taming the brunette.

Beyonce Channels Her Glamorous Side for House of Dereon

After posing as "1960's pin-up girl" with blonde hair for hip sportswear range Dereon's fall/holiday 2010 campaign, Beyonce Knowles channels her sexy and glamorous side for the House of Dereon campaign.

For the fashion range, Beyonce dons a strapless long dress which is dominated with yellow color while wearing a 30s and 40s make-up and hair-do.

"These two campaigns feature Beyonce, but that is where the similarity end," Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles told People. "They are so different in mood and creative direction reflecting the distinction between the two brands."

Meanwhile, beside showing her wild side as a blonde biker chick in Dereon ads, Beyonce also poses topless with fake tattoos on her back. Both Dereon, which campaign features Beyonce in a "1960's pin-up girl meets futuristic biker chick", and the House of Dereon, which captures the singer as a glamorous screen siren, were shot by celebrity photographer Tony Duran.

The two campaigns will be launched in September issues of fashion and lifestyle magazines as well as in-store and online. House of Dereon, which is co-designed by Beyonce Knowles with her mom Tina Knowles, was first announced in September 2004.

Beyonce expanded the brand by launching the junior line Dereon along with her sister Solange Knowles in 2006. The name of Dereon itself was taken from Beyonce's maternal grandmother, Agnez Dereon.

Lady Gaga: how her crowd-surf resulted in bliss and more music

Lady Gaga: how her crowd-surf resulted in bliss and more music
She may have been categorically asked not to risk it, but on the night of 6th August, at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, Illinois, Lady Gaga was in no mood to heed to her grumpy record label bosses. She just threw herself into the crowds.

Since then, the news of her crowd-surfing with singer Justin Tranter from SEMI PRECIOUS WEAPONS band has become big. The Poker Face singer explained her dive to Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest, saying that it was pure impulse and that she hadn’t had time to think about it-she just did it. And that it felt great.

She tells, “I was so excited ’cause I haven’t crowd-surfed in a long time ’cause no one lets me anymore.

“It was great. I love Semi Precious so much and they’re my band… I don’t know what came over me. I just got so excited and I remember playing that stage and what it felt like and they were doing such a great job… I just jumped.”

She further reveals that she felt so happy afterwards that she just went backstage and kept writing music. She in fact says that she is somewhat worried about what she is going to do with all those written notes since her album is almost done.

But then it was pure impulse, too. Moment of inspiration, if you will.

Sonam to do Hollywood film after Mausam: Anil Kapoor

New Delhi Sonam Kapoor, who has topped Maxim
India's 100 hottest list, is planning to take up a Hollywood project after wrapping up her next project Mausam, says father Anil Kapoor.

Her latest film Aisha, an Indian adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma, made a theatrical gross of Rs 26 crore in the first weekend but the actress has already left for Toronto to shoot Anees Bazmee's Thank You, says her father.

However, the 50-year-old actor, who starred in Danny Boyle's multiple-Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire feels it is right time for Sonam to make a headstart in Hollywood.

"Sonam is only four films old but she is not only getting Indian offers but lots of Hollywood offers too and I think it is great going for her", said Kapoor.

When asked whether Sonam, 25, had decided upon anything concrete, the actor-producer said they were currently reading scripts.

"It all depends on the script, role and availability of dates but I am sure that after she finishes Mausam, she will look into it. She read one more script before she left for Toronto. If things go right and everything works out there is one international film she might do," said the actor without giving details.

Sonam has been reportedly offered a film by Ben Stiller titled 30 Minutes Or Less but it is not clear whether she is onboard.

Kapoor initially wanted Sonam to concentrate on her Bollywood career but things seems to have changed post Aisha. The actress is currently working on Akshay Kumar starrer Thank You and Mausam with Shahid Kapoor.

Talking about the film, which also saw his younger daughter Rhea debuting as a producer, Kapoor said the film has opened a new genre of chick flicks in Bollywood and he will concentrate on making more female oriented films from now on.

"I think we have opened a new genre in Bollywood. It is the first chick flick for the Indian audience. We can now make light films with female protagonists. Hollywood has made many such films with Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts but I don't recall something like that in India," the actor said.

Kapoor's first home production Gandhi My Father won a national award for him but did not do very well at the box office while Shortkut too was not a great success but he hopes things will change with Aisha, which released last week.

"It is getting a good response because it is a nice, clean, family film. There is no sleaze and controversy in the film and I am proud of them because my daughter have done such a good job," Kapoor said.

The actor is currently busy reading scripts and working on his upcoming projects including No Problem, which he is also producing, Race 2 and No Entry 2. He says he has set out some rules for himself as a producer.

"I will try to make as many original films as possible and will take risk with out of the box stories but to balance it out I will also do mainstream commercial films like No Entry and No Problem. The focus is to make classy but commercial films," Kapoor said, adding that he will announce his next project by Diwali.

Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball concert

Costumes show their teeth over sets in Lady Gaga’s lean and mean return to Los Angeles. Four out of five stars

As stock markets tank and unemployment lines grow during recessionary times, there’s nothing more surreal, or wonderful, than ducking into Lady Gaga’s “Monster Ball” concert, a show that heralds the return of Glam-Rock. Wednesday marked the first of two shows in the City of Angels; her most recent spin here since December.

With her sleek body, cabaret vocals, Michael Jackson moves and a string of avant-garde costumes that look like they fell off the fashion runway in the Talking Heads’ movie “True Stories,” Lady Gaga easily seduces and is well worth going into debt for on your credit card. Her Highness knows times are tough, so when she thanks her audience for coming, it’s with a complete sense of sincerity.

The Lady doth pull out an endless number of metallic and table cloth-like Burkas as well as bathing suits from a lost Busby Berkleley number on acid. Even so, “Monsters Ball” is quite streamlined in its overall production design next to the pre-recession A/V excess flaunted by Madonna in her 2006 “Confession” and 2008 “Sticky & Sweet” Tours as well as Christina Aguilera’s “Back to Basics” – shows which changed up sets with each and every song, employing a number of complex props and screens. Gaga economically uses fewer sets for as many as four songs.

It is here that this Monster of Fame is quite tame: For all her controversy, Lady Gaga isn’t as shocking live as one might think. If you’re looking for a bubble gum version of G.G. Allin, who is probably the Duke of transgressive punk acts, self-humiliation and just all-out gross tricks; her Highness’ ability to drop jaws isn’t that far from her pop sisters’ — Madonna, Aguilera, Brittney Spears and Gwen Stefani—onstage indulgences for Andrew Lloyd Weber and Cirque du Soliel stage glamour. A silver Jesus statue bleeding and aflame during “Alejandro” is as dicey as it gets and is mundane in the wake of Madonna’s Catholic protests. In fact, the video interstitials during “Monster’s Ball” — which include Lady Gaga in a blood soaked Marilyn Monroe dress and her smoking her face into a skull– are more haunting than the S&M dancers parading around.

Set a guitar on fire? Throw a faux tantrum and break her spherical ball outfit during “Bad Romance”? With dollars being tight, Lady Gaga wouldn’t think of wasting such cash at each tour stop on such outrageous acts. She’d prefer to give the extra production dollars to her Re*Generation homeless youth charity, which tub-thumps during the show.

But what Lady Gaga lacks in S&M bondage on stage, she makes up for in hysterical, dictator-like egotistical proclamations, i.e. “The Monster Ball will set you free!” “All the freaks are outside and I locked the doors!” screams Lady Gaga – and the crowd hollers back in ecstasy. She is in love with herself and her quick ascent into showbiz: The audience gets to hear about how William Morris took a chance “on a little girl with a filthy mouth.” At one point, blood on her lacquered black bathing suit, Gaga pulls a dying Tinker Bell scenario, encouraging the audience to scream her back to life. All of this goes done quite fine and remains a welcomed part of the evening, just like her see-through, hipped plastic dress.

The curtain rose to find Gaga in a fixed position on a disco-set of stairs, consumed in a large-shoulder purple jacket and leopard bathing suit, dealing out the lyrics to “Dance in the Dark.” Without making a move for quite some time, Gaga roused the Staples Center crowd. With nods to “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Little Shop of Horrors,” the “Monster Ball” follows Gaga and her friends as they make their way to the fanciful title party. The setting appears to be a New York ghetto where Gaga’s friends Rolls Royce breaks down. Eventually they wind up in a jagged forest, reminiscent of a Tim Burton sketch and end their journey at a white disco-lit stage for “Bad Romance.”

Highlights include the tribal rain dance of studded leather dancers in “Telephone” as well as “Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) in which Gaga’s wears a white-music box, ballet-like dress with wings and breast parts which move in tandem with the song’s melancholy rhythm.

Overall, Gaga plays her “Fame Monster” cannon straight up, without any alternative takes or remixes, i.e. “Poker Face” sounds like it’s right off the album and we unfortunately aren’t treated to the slow, piano version of the track.

It’s the quieter moments of the show, when Gaga settles upon her baby grand, where “Monsters Ball” shines. Chords literally on fire (it’s a special effect component of the piano, unfortunately she doesn’t burn a piano every night), Gaga treats us to “Speechless” which she played at the Grammys, but also to her new track “You and I” – reminiscent of an early Billy Joel soulful ballad in its tone and lyrics.

And it’s in her ability to repurpose pop art, like Andy Warhol, that makes Lady Gaga brilliant. Her songs sound similar to other artists, but they’re dressed in a whole new costume, both audio wise and visually, giving her ownership. If Warhol were alive, he certainly would want to be at the “Monsters Ball,” and in turn, ensure that Gaga is at his Factory.

The penultimate moment in the show is when Lady Gaga finally encounters the “Fame Monster.” Pink Floyd might have had an inflated pig as their mascot, but Lady Gaga has a mutated Angler Fish-Octopus. He makes an appearance during “Paparazzi” in which he attacks her Highness with his legs at the Monsters Ball. It’s so crazy, you shake your head, but at the same time, it was a helluva great road trip.

Top 10 World's Sexiest Women

Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole has been named the world's sexiest woman for the second year in row.

The X Factor judge, estimated to be worth 10 million pounds, has left behind the likes of Transformers star Megan Fox and underwear model Marissa Miller.

The singer is the first Brit to top the FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll. Over one million FHM readers worldwide voted for the poll this year.

'That other election might be a close-run thing but this equally important poll was so one-sided this year that some bookies have already paid out on Cheryl Cole,' the Independent quoted FHM editor-in-chief Colin Kennedy as saying.

'After hogging the headlines and dominating TV screens for 12 solid months, the nation's sweetheart romped home for a second successive year, leaving all challengers in her curvaceous wake.

'With very strong showings for Frankie Sandford and hot newcomers like Twilight star Kristen Stewart, perhaps Cheryl should start looking over that perfectly sculpted shoulder. Or at least, showing a bit more leg,' he added.

Cole split from footballer husband Ashley earlier this year after stories about his alleged affairs surfaced and saucy photos of him taken on his mobile phone were sent to other women.

Megan Fox

The Transformers' star was ranked runner-up for a second year. Despite being voted as having the most coveted derriere by Fitness Magazine recently, when it comes to overall sexiness, Fox lost out.

Marissa Miller

Victoria's Secret model's sexy curves ensure her a third spot in the list.

Frankie Sandford
English singer Frankie Sandford of all-girl act The Saturdays took fourth position, up 13 places in a year.

Keeley Hazell
The English Page 3 girl and model remains at number five for the second year running.

Kristen Stewart
Starring in the hugely popular Twilight series has given this pale 20-year-old fame, fortune and a sexy tag.

Kelly Brook
Her films maybe forgettable, but this English lingerie model/occasional swimwear designer and television presenter is not.

Adriana Lima
One look at this Brazilian model in a swimsuit and you will know why she's Victoria's Secret Angel since 2000.

Jessica Alba
Motherhood doesn't seem to dim the actress' hotness quotient. In fact, we're betting that mommyhood just makes this pouty actress that much hotter.

Abbey Clancy
You might not be familiar with this English lingerie and catwalk model.

But if you're a football fan, you would know all about her controversial involvement with England football star Peter Crouch during the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

This is the first time I am playing a double role

You have been lucky, getting such opportunities to play different kinds of roles in your career.

I agree. It has been a wonderful journey so far. Fashion was a glamorous role with some underlying emotions, All The Best was a full fledged comedy, Jail was a serious movie, and Help is a horror flick. I am learning a lot from each film.

Why take up a horror film?

After I finished Fashion and All The Best, I was shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar's Jail. That's when director Rajeev Virani came to me and read this script. My first reaction was very spontaneous because I have never tried this genre.

I also thought that since this will be my fourth film, it won't be too early either since most actresses try horror films once they are established. So in that way, I was scared.

But the script helped me cement my decision to go ahead with this film. This is also the first time I am playing a double role in a film.

A lot of research has gone into the making of this film. If you see the promos, you will come to know about the stages of fear a human being has. The reason a person gets possessed is explained in this film.

I cannot reveal the entire story. It is a love story and a supernatural thriller. Help is the story of Vic (Bobby Deol) and his wife Pia (Mugdha), who fight a malicious and wicked spirit.

Getting into a bikini was no big deal : Mugdha Godse

Srabanti Chakraborty in Mumbai

Bollywood heroines may have done it time and again but wearing a bikini still makes the news.

So this Friday's release Help seems to make more headlines for its lead actress Mugdha Godse's bikini scenes than its horror genre. The film also stars Bobby Deol.

The Fashion star talks to Srabanti Chakraborty about what to expect in Help.

Everyone is talking about the bikini scene, and how sexy you look in it. How comfortable are you in a bikini?

I have been a model so getting into a two piece and shooting was no big deal. In fact, I wore a two piece in Fashion also. It's just that my legs were covered with a wrap-around.

I wasn't conscious about wearing a bikini as it was a script requirement. But I do have to work hard to keep my body in shape.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart call off Hollywood

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart might call off Hollywood so they can focus on their relationship. “They are considering changing their lives so they can concentrate on their relationship and get away from stardom,” Real Bollywood quoted one insider as saying.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are currently among the absolute Hollywood elite. Twilight since the two actors do a mega hype around her person. For months they tried to attach the two privately a relationship. Whether this really is so, we still do not know really. Where they walk and stand, the paparazzi are lurking on them.

This can be quite annoying. In particular, Kristen Stewart can not handle this stress and really hates the media hype. However, she loves her job. What to do? Very simple. How now reports to Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson Hollywood with her plan to turn its back.

To put an end to the hype they are planning only a very small films would play and plays in particular. One could keep his job, but the hype would die down

They are considering changing their lives so they can concentrate on their relationship and get away from stardom.

Kristen’s suggested they try theatre work and indie films. They are both incredibly talented actors and very well thought of in the industry.

Emma Thompson, Ben Kingsley get stars on Walk of Fame

Oscar-winning British actress Emma Thompson received a star on the famed Hollywood Walk of Fame this past weekend outside of the historic British eatery the Pig 'n' Whistle pub.

Kerry Katona's I am a celebrity attempt fails

London, Kerry Katona’s attempt to participate in ‘I’m A Celebrity’ with her mom has failed miserably. The mum-of-four was left red-faced after just 26 people joined her desperate crusade. Fans set up a Facebook group calling for the former jungle show winner to team up with her mum Sue to go Down Under again.

Her attempted skid was brought to a halt when she received hardly any response, despite a plug on her own Facebook page. “They would be a scream on it,” The Daily Star quoted one fan, Nikki Sinnott, as saying on the page. “They’d win it hands down,” said another fan, Allison Twist.

If it had worked, the chance to return to the show would have brought Katona back in the spotlight, and mom Sue would have been a celebrity. “After seeing how little interest there is in this campaign producers are not going to touch them with a barge pole,” said a source.

Teen Choice Awards 2010: Kim Kardashian, Megan Fox, Levi Johnston

The Teen Choice Awards is the center of pop culture in America and the World. It doesn't matter how old you are, some of the stars we watch and who were at The Teen Choice Awards are older.

LL Cool J's in his 40s as are people like P Diddy, and of course the incomparable Betty White, who's 88 years old.

Age is just a number, but the number of hot women was so high it made this blogger's ears pop.

Where else can you see Kim Kardashian tell Megan Fox that Fox is more beautiful than she is! And who let Sarah Palin's almost son-in-law Levi Johnston into the Teen Choice Awards?

How random is that?

Megan Fox
The Teen Choice Awards is a celebration that seems to have made the Twilight: New Moon cast stars before they knew what hit them. Taylor Lautner, who's now called "Taylor Hotner" on Twitter, picked up his third straight award this year.

The one thing missing was a Miley Cyrus song or dance number. We've got so much publicist from her machine, it seems the Teen Choice Awards is missing something without Miley Cyrus.

Oh, and her pole dance number!

Lastly, a big congrats to YouTube Partner Michael Buckley of The What The Buck Show for co-hosting the live stream of the Teen Choice Awards Red Carpet Show!
