Will you marry me? Delhi guy asks Deepika

It wasn’t the perfect setting for a romantic proposal, but a young Delhi boy dared to pop the question to actress Deepika Padukone when she came to a mall here Tuesday to promote her film “Lafangey Parindey”.
The youth went down on his knees, looked at the Bollywood beauty and asked: “Will you marry me?”

Deepika, who was accompanied by her co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh, seemed baffled by the sudden, unexpected proposal. But she was quick to respond.

“I am not ready for marriage yet,” replied Deepika, who looked lovely in a sari.

But the youth wasn’t willing to give up so easily.

“But I am ready for you,” he said.

Deepika, who is rumoured to be dating liquor baron Vijay Mallya’s son Siddharth, brushed the whole incident with a laugh.

Both the actors were in a fun mood and mingled with the huge crowd that had gathered in the south Delhi mall to catch a glimpse of the stars at the event organised by DT Cinemas.

Neil’s father, singer Nitin Mukesh, was present at the event and he sang his father Mukesh’s evergreen song “Kisiki muskurahaton pe…” for the crowd.

Even Neil and Deepika gave in to the requests of their fans by doing a casual dance to “Dhatad tatad”, a popular song from “Lafangey Parindey”, which releases Friday.

The film will have Neil playing a boxer who fights blindfolded, and Deepika will be seen as a visually challenged girl who can dance on skates.

Deepika Padukone refused to star in 'Kites'

Deepika Padukone was a very strong contender to star in Rakesh Roshan’s 'Kites'. She was supposedly approached to play the love interest of Hrithik Roshan in the film.

Directed by Anurag Basu, ’Kites’ had an ensemble of stars, with Hrithik Roshan and Mexican actress Barbara Mori playing lead. It had Kangana Ranaut and Kabir Bedi in supporting roles.

Why Deepika said no to ‘Kites’?
There might have been several reasons why Deepika refused the offer. According to the industry insiders, Deepika was uncomfortable with the kissing and intimate scenes that would have been in store for her if she had accepted the film. Deepika was also hesitant to wear bikini at that point.

However, 'Kites’ turned out to be the biggest disappointment for Bollywood. The film crashed at the box office with net business of Rs 342.60 million (Rs 34.26 crore) as net collections across India.

‘Kites’ has under-performed in the key international markets too. In U.K, despite the massive number of screens it was released in, the film collected half of what was expected.

In U.S, the film featured in the Top 10 list, but given the number of screens (208), the opening weekend numbers became disappointing.

Deepika keen to work with Hrithik
According to industry insiders, Deepika is keen to work with Duggu as hints are there that if ‘Krissh’ sequel comes out, it will have no one but Deepika in the lead opposite Hrithik Roshan.

According to sources, Rakesh Roshan will be directing the film apart from producing it. It is also believed that Roshan Sr. has had early discussions with the SFX Team and a big crew of foreign technicians, who worked in ‘Krrish’. They have been bouncing off ideas on where to take the character and how to develop it.

However when asked, Rakesh Roshan denies the report saying, “I’m not even sure whether I am making the Krrish sequel as of today.”

Sonam Kapoor hates Deepika Padukone

Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone share something in common and that is heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor. Sonam and Ranbir used to be a childhood friends but before she could rule Ranbir’s heart, Deepika came into the picture and parts away the two hearts. Their personal disputes have now taken a toll in their professional life. The result is that Sonam Kapoor refuses to share screen space with Deepika Padukone.

Irritated Sonam walked out of the project that also stars her arch rival Deepika Padukone. Though Sonam never confesses her love for Ranbir, the love that she carries in her heart for the Kapoor scion is not hidden to anyone. Sonam and Deepika’s disputes were from the days of ‘Sawariya’ where Ranbir played Sonam’s ‘Saawariya’ but in real, he was taken away by Deepika.

Though Deepika and Ranbir called off their relationship, cat-fights between the two beauties still prevail.
