Hilary Duff to star in new Spider-Man?

Hollywood actress Hilary Duff has reportedly been spotted with the script of the new Spider-Man movie, sparking rumours that she is to appear in the film franchise. According to contactmusic.com, the actress was spotted with a script entitled Spider-Man” with a character called “Girl" highlighted on it.

However, it has been claimed the new movie which sees British actor Andrew Garfield take on the role of Peter Parker, previously played by Tobey Maguire, would not feature Mary Jane Watson, the lead female previously portrayed by Kirsten Dunst.

Hilary recently appeared in Gossip Girl (2009) and has a number of movies to be coming up in 2011, including Dolphin's Tale and The Gift Horse”.

She is also working on The Story of Bonnie and Clyde alongside Thora Birch, which is due for release later this year.

Actress Jessica Alba has defended her Machete co-star Lindsay Lohan, insisting the Mean Girls star is a brilliant actress. The mum-of-one appears in the new movie alongside the troubled actress, who recently completed a brief spell in prison. "The fact that she can poke fun at
herself - she's a brilliant
actress,” the Sun quoted her as saying. She then urged the public to focus on Lindsay's talent and not her personal life.

She said: "Mean Girls is a classic. It's so good. How can you ever forget that? "I think people should probably focus more on someone's career and maybe less on someone's personal circumstances.

"It's nobody's business. "Everyone goes through their own thing," she added

Snooki is a Lindsay Lohan wannabe

September 10, 2010: Snooki is one of the popular reality TV stars of America and she is well known for her outrageous behavior in the past as well. The star from the wildly popular MTV reality TV show “Jersey Shore” got busted recently for her drunken misbehavior that appalled beach goers.

Snooki got off the case with relative ease and did not get much of a sentence for her offense at all. As Snooki stood before the judge for her sentencing, the judge made sure that she learnt her lesson. What the judge said caught Snooki off-guard.

Judge Damian Murray was not ready to let Snooki go without a good reprimanding and he said “You seem to be acting like a Lindsay Lohan wannabe”. The all black clad reality starlet was chastised by the Judge’s comments. The judge told Snooki “Going through life rude, profane, obnoxious, and self-indulgent is not the way you want to go through life.”

Although Snooki was shocked by the judge’s scathing remarks, the judge was not quite done yet, he went on to question if Snooki’s offence was a scripted going to win publicity for the show. The Judge said that he suspects Snooki is a puppet at the hands of the show’s producers and creators, who can go to any length to get publicity. We hope Snooki learns her lesson and mends her ways after this incident.

Carla Bruni replaced by her look-alike in Woody Allen's film?

French First Lady Carla Bruni is reportedly being cut out of Woody Allen's movie Midnight in Paris.  Bruni has allegedly been replaced by a far younger look-alike Lea Seydoux, who has already been hired to re-shoot all of her scenes. "The American director has taken the precaution
of filming the First Lady's scenes with someone else," The Daily Mail quoted a movie insider as telling celebrity Paris website Bakchich.info.

Bruni was the centre of attention and amusement when she took dozens of takes to perform a few simple dramatic tasks during the shoot, even when all she had to do was walk in and out of a bread shop while saying nothing, and then carrying a small baguette while looking serious.

Carla BruniAnd now with 25-year-old Seydoux on the scene, Bruni's dream of starring alongside Owen Wilson and Marion Cotillard, the remaining star cast of this film, is more or less over.

"While there's obvious novelty value in getting France's first lady to carry a baguette around Paris, Lea is a far better actress. She'll get people flowing into the cinemas, which in the end is what a professional film is all about," said a film industry source.

Besides that, Seydoux would cost the director a lot lesser. She is also a much safer bet than Bruni, because she has already proved her acting skills in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds before getting a leading role in Ridley Scott's Robin Hood. 

Bruni meanwhile, has admitted she could well be a 'terrible' actress; even though she wants to one day tell her grandchildren that she appeared in a Woody Allen film.

A representative for Seydoux, however, tells France's Voici magazine that she was just added to the cast and Bruni is still doing the film.

The Poker Face singer's latest stunt has prompted a furious response from animal rights campaigners, reported Daily Mail online.

Gaga has come under fire from PETA for the cover. "No matter how beautifully it is presented, flesh from a tortured animal is flesh from a tortured animal. Meat represents bloody violence and suffering, so if that's the look they were going for, they achieved it," said Ingrid

Paris Hilton voted worst celebrity rolemodel

Socialite Paris Hilton has been voted the worst celebrity rolemodel in an online poll.

Three summer drug arrests in South Africa, France and Las Vegas have dented her reputation, contactmusic.com reports.

Hilton landed a comprehensive 43 percent of votes, destroying the competition which includes Lindsay Lohan, who has spent time behind bars and in rehab this summer. Lohan finished second with 23 percent. Chris Brown came fourth, followed by incarcerated rapper Lil Wayne.

Hilton was last week charged with suspicion of possession of cocaine in Las Vegas. She will have to face up to four years in jail and a $5,000 fine if convicted. The socialite is scheduled to appear in court Oct 27.
