Pamela Anderson poster for Peta urges vegetarianism, provocative style
Is it art? Is it meat? Is it sexist? Whatever it is, the latest advertisement from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is eye-catching.
The poster girl, the former Baywatch star and committed vegetarian Pamela Anderson, insisted that her decision to wear a bikini and portray her body as collection of cuts of meat, had not been a tough one.
"I decided to do this provocative style because there is so much competition for people's attention today, so Peta and I wanted to make sure the message couldn't be ignored," she said.
Anderson shrugged off the suggestion that some people might gaze at the poster for carnal gratification rather than vegetarian epiphany.
"The butcher diagram is the perfect thing to parody, because it allows you to use your own body as a protest tool," she explained.
Anderson will launch Peta's fresh effort to convert the UK to the benefits of vegetarianism, at an event outside the London Transport Museum, in Covent Garden, at 2pm on Sunday.
Peta, in its work for animal rights over 30 years, has drawn attention to procedures in farming, laboratories, circuses and the clothing trade, and to wildlife issues, and cruelty in general. Some of its publicity campaigns have attracted controversy. A poster featuring the face of one of those convicted of killing "Baby P" and linking cruelty to animals to cruelty to humans, was banned by the Advertising Standards Authority.
Dan Mathews, Peta's senior vice president, said he had high hopes for the new campaign. "As Peta's 'weapon of mass distraction', Pamela has lured legions of pop culture junkies to Peta's website and sparked interest in animal issues in a very unique way," he said.

Brooke Hogan's best body... reality star shows off new and improved beach body
And now she has unveiled the results.
The reality television star showed off her newly toned beach body in the briefest of bikinis - including some abs that wouldn't have looked out of place on her famous wrestler father Hulk Hogan.
Brooke has been sticking to a strict gym schedule with daily and sometimes twice daily workouts recently.
Earlier this week she tweeted: 'Good morning! Going for a run! back on my 2x a day! woooaaahh!'

The TV personality has spoken publicly about her battle to stay in shape. Last year she said: 'I feel great at this weight, but I’ve started sticking to a diet again.'
I’m trying hard to get down even more. You need to keep to the old-school bodybuilder diet of eggs, fish, chicken, meat and broccoli. I want to always look healthy, not anorexic.'
But she said she feels confident in a bikini whatever her size. She said: 'I love my body. Thick or not, I’m firm. I don’t have cellulite. I’m happy with how I am.
'People should know, I’m only doing the diet for the entertainment business. It’s not really what you’re supposed to look like in real life.'
Brook shot to fame on the back of her parents' TV show, Hogan Knows Best, but after the collapse of their marriage she has moved into her own home in Miami, where she stars in the spin-off show, now in its second season.
Her attempts at a pop career have been ridiculed in the American press, but this hasn't stopped Brooke from pursuing her ambition, followed by the cameras.
Brooke's mother Linda was involved in an acrimonious two-year battle with wrestler Hulk Hogan after filing for divorce in 2007 after twenty three years of marriage.
The split grew increasingly ugly when Linda publicly began dating Charlie Hill, 19, a former classmate with Brooke.

Megan Fox and Other Stars Grace Scream Awards
Donning a light peach-colored mini-dress while choosing to set her long hair in soft curls, the actress who lead the cast in Jennifer’s body graced the event held last Saturday.
Apart from Megan Fox, other Hollywood names that came to honor sci-fi, fantasy and horror films were Scream 4 actress Emma Roberts and True Blood’s Anna Paquin who portrays Sookie Stackhouse. Paquin eventually took the Best Horror Actress Award.
Halle Berry, who was recognized with the Decade of Hotness Award in 2009 by the Spike Guys’ Choice Awards also graced the said affair wearing a strapless sequined dress.
However, the night probably went to the Best Fantasy Actress, Kristen Stewart. The 20 year old Twilight star received her award with her signature smoky eyes.

Paris Hilton says no to partying
Socialite Paris Hilton has put her partying days behind her to focus on her love life and community service.
"When you have been going out for so long, the (party) scene gets old, and I'm moving on with my life and on to bigger and better things," said Hilton just one month after her cocaine bust in Las Vegas.
The 29-year-old heiress is now keen on giving back to the community via charity, reported Radar online.
"My community service is really important to me," said Hilton.
"This week I started and we went down and got a bunch of pumpkins at the pumpkin patch and carving tools and paint, candy and a pinata and did a lot of fun things for the kids," she added.
As part of her 200 hours of community service she needs to complete, Hilton will also spend time volunteering at homeless shelters in both Los Angeles and Vegas.
As for her romantic relationship with Cy Waits, she says they are happier than ever.
"I'm so happy. Cy is an amazing man. He is one of the kindest people I have ever met in my life and he is my best friend. We are inseparable, we are always together. I just feel very blessed that I found him," she said.

Katy-Russell's customised Indian wedding
After making best efforts to keep her wedding preparations under wraps and dodging the media, Katy Perry and Russell brand were spotted at the Mumbai airport yesterday (20 October, 2010).
And despite all the measures taken by the bride-to-be Katy to hide her traditional Indian nose ring, the ‘nath’ was visible to one and all as the couple waited for a flight to Jaipur.
Staying at the luxury Aman-I-Khas desert "wilderness" resort, the couple is busy with their marriage celebrations. Just hours before the couple arrived, Katy’s parents, Keith and Mary Hudson, arrived at the complex where guests sleep in 600 pounds-a-night tents.
As for their celebrity guests, Jonathan Ross, David Walliams and Rihanna were due to arrive last night. Sources also claim the couple asked for a Hindu priest to bless them "in true Indian style".
There will be four days of celebrations ahead of the wedding, including a tiger safari and feast.
As for Katy’s wedding dress, it’s being designed by Lebanese designer Reem Acra, who has dressed Catherine Zeta Jones and Angelina Jolie in the past.
Indian designers Falguni and Shane Peacock are also working on her trousseau. “We are in touch with Katy’s stylist and manager; we’re still finalising the details,” said Falguni.
Indian jewellery designer Hanut Singh has made the engagement rings for the couple. “I helped design the rings,” he says.
As for her fans, there is only one thing that Katy has asked as a wedding gift and it’s the couple’s ‘privacy’ during their wedding in India.
On Wednesday morning (20 October, 2010), Perry pleaded privacy on her Twitter account. “Greatest gift u can give us is respect and love during this private time (sic),” she wrote.

Get a room! Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt share kisses and cuddles on the set of her new film
So perhaps it's no surprise that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt grabbed several chances to get up close and personal on the set of her new movie in Hungary.
The couple, both dressed in casual outfits, wrapped their arms around each other as they shared kisses and hugs in Budapest earlier today.
Pitt, 46, is in the Hungarian capital to help take care of the children while Jolie directs the dramatic film - described as a Bosnian War love story.
The couple also had some cause for celebration with the news that Jolie can now shoot some of her film in Bosnia-Herzegovina after authorities banned her.
'We were promised by the Ministry of Culture that the permit will be issued on Monday,' Edin Sarkic, director of the Bosnian production company working on the project, told ABC News.
'It was supposed to be done on Friday, but now it is sure to happen on Monday.'
Bosnian authorities had withdrawn permission following an outcry from politicians and women's groups in the country over details of the plot.
The movie is said to be about a Bosnian Muslim woman who falls for the Serbian soldier who rapes her during the bitter Balkans war.
Bosnia's Federal Ministry of Culture had announced the ban last Wednesday after the country's leading women's group - Women: War Victims - launched a formal protest.
Jolie, 35, has tried to appease those in the region who expressed concern about the film's subject matter.
'Obviously any dramatic interpretation will always fail those who have had a real experience. This is not a documentary," she said in a statement.
'There are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters and that will be revealed once the film is released.
'My hope is that people will hold judgement until they have seen the film.'

Celebrating her 30th birthday in Las Vegas Kim Kardashian wanted the perfect dress - and despite trying on a a figure-hugging cream number earlier in the day, on the night she opted for a spotlight hogging tight metallic silver dress.
Strapless, to show off her impressive embonpoint, extremely short, and very tight - it ticked all the trademark Kardashian boxes.
And as usual she made sure that her curvy derriere was the main attraction.
Kim, who turns 30 next Thursday, was in the Nevada city to celebrate her milestone birthday when she and her sister Kourtney hit the shops.
They visited a series of high-end stores hours before heading to a party in her honour at the popular TAO nightclub.
The reality TV star was snapped in Las Vegas, checking out her curves in a white Hervé Léger dress in a dressing room mirror.
And she made sure that the dress fitted snugly round her bottom and and bosom as she admired herself in the mirror.
Wearing a similar black and white outfit to the one she travelled to Vegas in the day before, Kim visited the pool at the Venetian hotel and was greeted by a crowd of fans and photographers.
Later she and Kourtney enjoyed lunch with friends around the pool in one of the hotel's private cabanas.
The Kardashian sisters' celebrity continues to grow as they take on more projects, but one thing Kim says she regrets is posing for Playboy in 2007.
In an interview with Harper's Bazaar she recently said she was 'sorry' she bared all in a raunchy cover story for the men's magazine.
Despite her penchant for living her life in the spotlight, she claims that what you see isn't really what you get.
She told the latest issue of W magazine: 'I'm not a drinker, and when I'm up on the table dancing, it's for the picture'.
'Then I sit right back down. I play into the perception of me, but it's not really me. And the show reveals that.'
Kim's entire family were all at her bash last night, the night appeared to go smoothly - unlike her last birthday.
Last year Scott Disick - Kim's sister Kourtney's partner - drank too much, went on a violent rampage and ruined Kim's 29th birthday celebration, but this year he decided to fly home to avoid spoiling Kim's big night.

Interesting new gossip about Kim Kardashian and her BODYGUARD, it’s reported that she may be dating her Australian bodyguard Deane. A friend of Deane’s tells kikster, “I’m very surprised that he would be like that- he is a VERY professional security guard who has worked for Elton John and other top celebs, he is a stand-up man of his word and always has taken his work seriously!”
A friend of Kim’s tells kikster, “She still talks about Deane and basically wants what she CAN’T have!- He’s told her, I can’t work for you unless its 100% professional- so she’d rather have him around hoping he changes his mind rather than losing HIM!”
Astrochicks thinks this will only be a fling for Kim Kardashian. Our Libra girl must be a little lonely and most bodyguards are pretty hot, I think she would eventually get bored with Deane. Kim and Khloe Kardashian are coming back to South Africa
It’s official Kim Kardashian, US model and television personality, will be in South Africa this December courtesy of Brutal Fruit when the brand launches its exciting new flavour, Cheeky Cranberry.
The curvaceous Kim announced her visit to the country via Skype from Vegas (where she was celebrating her 30th birthday) during a glittering launch event held at the exclusive ZAR Lounge in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Thursday night, October 14.
She will be joined on her visit by her younger and equally popular sister, Khloe on their second visit to the country after they first came here in July last year with Kim’s former lover and footballer Reggie Bush. The sisters are expected to party-up a storm in true Kardashian style while in the country.
“It’s almost Skype time Johannesburg!!! I’m gonna jump on soon and join the #BFCheeky party!!! Who’s joining me!?” tweeted Kim.
Kim’s feminine style and personality exudes the Brutal Fruit spirit and was thus invited by the vibrant brand to attend some of the exclusive local launch events to take place in December.
“Kim is the perfect match for the Brutal Fruit brand. From her fun, vibrant and exuberant personality to her stylish and sophisticated look, she is the embodiment of everything a cheeky girl should be,” said Andile Luswazi, Brutal Fruit Brand Manager.
To build excitement in anticipation of yesterday’s launch, a Brutal Fruit Facebook competition offered customers the opportunity to guess what the new beverage flavour was. Imaginations ran wild and submissions came in fast and furious. In the end only 5 were selected and one of them walked away with an Audi A3 Cabriolet during the launch event, yesterday.
The Kardashian sisters will be joined by beautiful and talented South African personality, Bonang Matheba, who will add some local glitz to the exclusive events in December. Bonang has been chosen as the Brutal Fruit Cheeky Cranberry ambassador and party hostess.
“Bonang needs no introduction to South African audiences as a model, TV presenter, fashion designer and radio DJ. She is one of the hottest properties in SA entertainment and she’s just bursting with Cheeky personality,” said Luswazi.
Bonang will be hosting all the launch parties and will be joined by the Kardashian sisters at two exclusive parties in Cape Town and Johannesburg. During the events, further Audi A3 Cabriolets will be given away by the cheeky trio.
Cheeky Cranberry joins Brutal Fruit’s other mouth watering beverages - Lavacious Lemon, Manic Mango, Luscious Litchi, Sultry Strawberry, Passionate Peach and Berryluscious.
“We hope our consumers will not only enjoy Cheeky Cranberry, but it will also give them a platform to bring out their cheeky and fun personalities,” said Luswazi.
There at the event were the who’s who of Johannesburg entertainment industry including comedian David Kau, child star CC Ravele, celeb make-up artist Nthato Mashishi, singer Lady, 5F’s Poppy Ntshongwana, YFM’s Mpho Maboi, actress Terry Phetho, DJ Zinhle and many more.
Entertainment was served by local hip-hop group Teargas which got everyone singing along especially to their tune Mhlobo Wam’. Must give it up to MaEezy and KO who both looked really good on that stage, was not sure about Bantu’s hair and boep showing though, arg I love them all anyways.
To eat there was loads of little servings of foods from chicken and beef kebabs, to variety of fruits and loads of other small foods and ohhhh the bar was on point serving various cocktails and Brutal Fruit slushies.
As for the lady who won the car, sisi get a licence asap and know that I’m jealous of you and well done for the great gift.

Just recently, after calling it quits with her Dallas Cowboys football-playing boyfriend Miles Austin, Kim Kardashian became single. Now, the reality star said that she is blaming her hard love life on reality TV as a whole. For those that do not know, Kim is on the reality show “Keeping up With the Kardashians” and most recently “Kim and Kourtney Take New York.”
Kim, age 29, said that it is definitely hard to date when a person’s life is on a reality show. She went on to say, that she has to ask them if they are cool with dating her on her show. She has to ask them if they are comfortable being on the show. Overall, it is really, really hard on the relationship, and this goes double when the relationship is just starting out.
Kim did note that she is definitely more open to dating when they are not filming. Thus, she prefers to date during her off season.
The 29-year-old beauty said that navigating the dating scene while on TV is very difficult. At times, it is hard to know a person’s real intentions. Overall, she admits that she is still trying to figure it all out. That is why she thinks it is probably best for her to be single right now.
She might say that she thinks its best to be single, but reports are suggesting something completely different. However, the reports of her dating Reggie are still just rumors.
