Mallika Sherawat and Freida Pinto turn friends ?

Mallika Sherawat who was in Cannes last month happened to meet Slumdog Millionaire beauty Frieda Pinto at a dinner. And the two seemed to get along like a house on fire.

While Mallika and Frieda are like chalk and cheese and noone thought they would even cross paths, the girls proved everyone wrong. According to a source, it seems the two beauties had a good bonding session at the dinner and even got pics clicked together. The only common factor between the two would be Hollywood – Frieda has established herself as a star while Mallika is still struggling.

At Cannes, Freida Pinto represents L'Oreal as do Ash and Sonam. Mallika is yet to make splash at Cannes with her movies – at the moment, it's only her fashion faux pas on the red carpet that make headlines most often!

Freida Pinto shares her beauty secret

Freida tells the Scottish newspaper Daily Record that drinking vegetable juice makes her skin glow.

“I make loads of fresh vegetable juices with coriander or pepper so that it's tastier. The concoction makes my skin glow and is good for the digestive system too,” said the 26-year-old starlet who skyrocketed to fame after the super success of the multiple Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire.

Ironically, there used to be a time when Freida wasn’t confident of her looks and body.

“When you doubt something about yourself, you start thinking there's also something wrong with your hair, your body or your clothes,” Freida added.

Today, all those complexes are done away with. Freida is the face of the international cosmetic brand L’Oreal.

Aishwarya Rai replaced by Freida Pinto as face of L'Oreal'

Aishwarya Rai, the Hollywood and Bollywood film star widely regarded the 'world's most beautiful woman,' has been ousted as the Indian face of cosmetic giant L'Oreal by Freida Pinto, according to industry insiders.
Her omission from L'Oreal's 'Happy New Year 2011' campaign marks the end of her reign as the world's best recognised Indian face, commentators said, and her demise as the country's most successful international film star.

It also marks the rise of Ms Pinto, who was relatively unknown until her appearance in Slumdog Millionaire, as one of India's top global stars.

The replacement of Ms Rai in L'Oreal's 'Happy New Year' campaign caps a miserable few months for a woman still regarded as a classical Indian beauty. Newspaper columnists have criticised her for appearing to have put on weight, while her appearance on the cover of the Indian edition of Elle magazine sparked a controversy over her skin colour.

It was claimed the photographs had been altered to make Ms Rai appear white.

Bollywood commentator and editor of The Hindustan Times' Brunch magazine Poonam Saxena said there was a growing perception in India that Ms Rai's reign was now over.

Freida Pinto shaped by rejections

Actress Freida Pinto admits she is happy that she faced so many rejections before finding fame as it helped shape her career.

The Mumbai-born actress auditioned for hundreds of roles before achieving fame in the 2008 Oscar-winning movie " Slumdog Millionaire" but insists her bad experiences made her the person she is today.

"I'm glad things happened the way they happened. I needed to be rejected, and I needed to learn that it's part of the game. I said, 'It's okay. I can have 100 rejections, but I'm sure there's going to be one particular thing that is almost destined for me to have, and I am going to have it'," femalefirst quoted her as telling a magazine.

"I used to go for these crazy auditions and they'd have the most stupid, silly scripts. My heart was never in it. I would go and try to do what I could, and then a short list would come out.

"Every day I was on the short list I would have a bad day - I'd be very moody and on edge. At the same time, I thought, 'What would happen if I made it to the final list? Maybe that would be my ticket'. But deep down in my heart I always had doubts, and I think when you have doubts, you just say no," she added
