Arnold Schwarzenegger will good by politics next year

Hollywood star-turned-California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced he'll quit as a politician next year.

The former action man's second and final term as Governor of California comes to an end at the end of 2010 and he insists he won't be seeking any other political gig after he steps down, reports express.co.uk.

The Austrian-born Republican recently hinted at another possible political run when he challenged America's rules on the nationality of those who seek election as President, but Schwarzenegger insists he won't be seeking that role any further or any other once he leaves office in Sacramento, California.

"I have never labelled myself as a politician, so I am not going to run for anything else," he said.

Since taking office in 2003, Schwarzenegger suspended his movie career, appearing only in cameo roles in The Rundown, Around the World in 80 Days and The Kid & I.

He's now set to star in next year's The Expendables, which has been directed by Sylvester Stallone and also stars Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis and Terry Crews.

The film is due for release in 2011.

Independence Day 2 AND 3 Will be in Theatres soon

During the recent promotion for his latest “I’m going to destroy the world in a crazy VFX kinda way” movie – 2012, director Roland Emmerich was again asked about the film that seems to have been cropping up a fair bit recently – the sequel to 1996’s Independence Day.

Roland Emmerich dropped a bomb the likes of which nearly tore the world in two (in a crazy kind of VFX way), not one sequel, but TWO.

Given the fact that thirteen long years have passed since the original, I’m quite thankful that noone has gone down the remake route yet, but two Idependence Day sequels? A fanboy’s wet dream.

“What we want to do in the next – it’s actually two movies – we want to do a bigger arc,” he explained. “‘Independence Day’ was always like the king who leads his troops into battle against an evil force, and that stays like that.”

And if you’re wondering what this all-encompassing story-arc may be called, well Emmerich’s already thought of that too:

So the plan is not just one sequel but two. And Emmerich has got a nifty title in mind: “‘ID4-ever,’ Part I and II maybe?” he suggested.

But before you all start breaking out your ID4 figurines and heading to Area 51, the MTV folks do make a point of saying that there is no script at present, Emmerich himself says “There’s an idea,” he says, before confirming to the guys that if it goes ahead, Will Smith will almost certainly be involved:

“The idea is just to continue the story and actually I don’t know how many years ago this was—twelve, thirteen, fourteen years ago—and just continue where it ended.”

Gerard Butler feels nervous while filming sex scenes with Katherine Heigl

Scottish actor Gerard Butler was reportedly so nervous while filming sex scenes with American actress Katherine Heigl that he kept forgetting his lines.

Butler, 39, plays a cocky ladies man in The Ugly Truth, but his confidence disappeared when it came time to shoot passionate scenes with Heigl, 30.

And he was so flustered by the bedroom takes that he struggled to keep in character.

“I was so nervous. I kept forgetting my lines. Once, in the middle of a take, I said to Katie, ‘Did I touch your breast?’” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“It was an accidental brush but I was pretty nervous about it,” he added.

Eva Mendes has slammed the US government

Hollywood actress Eva Mendes has slammed the US government for its "failed" response to help people in New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina in the 2005.

Stars including Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock threw themselves into helping residents rebuild the port city, after it was left devastated by Hurricane Katrina and Mendes insists the government has not done enough to aid locals.

"It was exciting because we brought business there (as she shot her new movie Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans there), but it was pretty devastating. I was in shock at some parts, I hadn't been there ever so I was still in shock that this happened in our country," she said.

"I felt we were somewhere else in certain areas. Our government failed this; you can see they failed this. It was pretty intense," she added.

Hurley on vodka diet for perfect figure

British actress-model Elizabeth Hurley says she is on a Vodka diet to keep in shape.

The 44-year-old has confessed that she was forced to adopt a more extreme diet plan to maintain her famously svelte figure. She revealed that she has cut out coffee and wine from her diet.

Now, instead of enjoying a glass of claret when she is at a social gathering, Hurley has turned to vodka to keep her midriff trim.

"I don't really like vodka that much but if I'm at a party I have a small one with a lot of fizzy water and a huge squeeze of lime. Initially it's like medicine but I've got used to it now," said Hurley

"I used to drink an awful lot of coffee, but I was told after the age of 40 you have to be careful with coffee and wine," she added.

Hurley lives in Gloucestershire with husband Arun Nayar and her seven-year-old son Damian.

Katrina Kaif's New Year Plan

Bollywood actresses are often sought to add glamour to New Year parties at world-class hotels and make the night memorable for the revelers. Katrina Kaif may have missed the chance to dance last year but this time she will and that too for an extra crore.

According to reports, Ms Kaif will get about Rs 2 crore, almost the double of what she was offered last year, to perform on New Year’s Eve party at J W Marriott. Last year, Mumbai was in no mood to celebrate after the terrorist attacks of 26/11 and thus most of the events were called off.

This year, Katrina has reportedly been asked again to perform and sources add, “This New Year's Eve, however, plans are on to make Katrina's event a grand affair. The actress has agreed to get jiggy but obviously for a higher price to match her present position in B-Town,”.

In previous years Mallika Sherawat and Bipasha Basu were also paid staggering amounts to dance at the bash but Katrina’s demand price has surpassed all. However, according to her, nothing is yet confirmed.

No doubt, the lady is in demand everywhere.

There should be a limit to fun, says Katrina Kaif

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif is not taking rumours of her marriage with an Indore-based politician lightly. She says people should have fun, but within limits.

"The police have already issued a statement saying that it is utter rubbish and the police are going to arrest him and serve notice. I hope they do. I agree doing it in fun is one thing but there should be a limit," Katrina told reporters here.

"People shouldn't cross the line. I will definitely support the police' decision to penalise the person," she added.

The news came in effect after a marriage certificate approved by the Indore Municipal Corporation came to surface. It claimed that the 24-year-old is married to local Bharatiya Janata Party member Ramesh Mendola since December 2, 2008.

The certificate was also registered with the Indore civic body December 11 that year. The local Municipal Corporation however retaliated that the certificate was fake and a complaint will be lodged with the police.

The actress was in the capital to launch Veet's Ready-To-Use Wax Strips. Katrina is the brand ambassador of the brand.

Katrina, who starred in recently released hit Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani, also insisted: "I'm confident enough to know what I am speaking."

Mallika Sherawat meets Johnny Depp

Mallika Sherawat is turning all the women green, with jealousy of course.

The actress was recently seen bonding with Hollywood heartthrob Johnny Depp at legendary crooner Tom Waits' daughter Kellisimone's art opening in Santa Monica, where Mallika was a special guest.

"It was a great pleasure meeting one of America's greatest actors. He's even better looking in person and to top it all, he told me that he is really looking forward to watching the Hissss trailer. I'm sure it'll give him sleepless nights," the actress said.
