NRI filmmaker Sohan Roy, who is currently busy with his Hollywood project Dam 999 to be released in English and Malayalam shortly, has filed a cheating case against Bollywood actress Tulip Joshi at the Kalamassery Police Station for not completing her shooting for Dam 999 despite taking part of her remuneration amounting to Rs. 8.5 lakhs.
"Tulip asked for half of the payment (Rs. 7 lakh) before the film. Biz TV Network also paid her Rs. 1.5 lakh as the instalment for the first schedule. The actress came and shot for two days and then just left. She was asked to return the payment and settle the matter, but we haven't heard from her," Roy's office said in a press release on Saturday.
Dam 999, a tribute to the victims of the 1975 Banqiao dam disaster in China, is almost complete. The film stars National award winning actor Rajit Kapur, Ashish Vidyarthi, Linda Arsenio, Joshua Fredric Smith, Jaala Pickering, Megha Burman, Vimala Raman, Vinay Rai and Jineet Rath. The film is produced by Middle East-based Marine BizTV.
