After a gap of more than two decades, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is back in Ooty
to shoot for a Malayalam film Kandahar.
The film, directed by 'Major' Ravi, is based on the real life incident involving hijacking of an Indian Airlines flight to Kandahar. It also stars Malayalam actor Mohanlal.
"Amitabh enacts the role of a father, whose commando-son was killed by militants during the rescue operations," Ravi said.
He said the crew would proceed to Afghanistan, Russia and Dehradun for shooting important scenes after the three day shoot here.
Amitabh, who had long back shot here for Shahenshah, had given three day call-sheet, he said, adding that the crew would shoot some scenes in and around the town and also on the premises of Madras Regiment Centre in Wellington.
